Job Overview

A US-based client is seeking experienced Senior Backend Engineers to contribute to an advanced AI Training and Evaluation Project. This is a remote contract opportunity requiring approximately 15 hours per week, with candidates expected to begin within 24–48 hours after successful onboarding.

The role focuses on backend engineering, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, networking, DevOps, infrastructure automation, identity and access management, messaging systems, storage, observability, and disaster recovery. AI experience is not required, making this opportunity suitable for experienced backend and infrastructure engineers who want to contribute their technical expertise to an AI-focused project.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems.
• Work with distributed systems and networking technologies.
• Develop and maintain reliable cloud infrastructure and backend services.
• Implement infrastructure automation and deployment processes.
• Support DevOps and cloud infrastructure operations.
• Work with identity and access management systems.
• Design and integrate message queues and storage systems.
• Implement observability, monitoring, logging, and system performance practices.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
• Troubleshoot complex backend, infrastructure, networking, and distributed-system issues.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with technical teams supporting AI training and evaluation workflows.
• Contribute to technical documentation, testing, and continuous improvement.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in backend engineering or related software engineering roles.
• Strong programming experience in one or more of:
  • Python
  • C++
  • Rust
  • Go
  • Java
  • JavaScript
• Experience with DevOps and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and networking.
• Experience with IAM, message queues, and storage technologies.
• Experience with observability and system monitoring.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity practices.
• Experience with infrastructure automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote contract environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• AI experience is not required.
• Relevant cloud, DevOps, backend, or infrastructure certifications are advantageous for professional development.

Salary, Benefits & Career Growth

Compensation: USD 100–150 per hour.
