An organization in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Platform Engineer to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise-scale Azure data environments. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in Azure administration, platform engineering, and data engineering services who can support complex, multi-environment cloud infrastructures.

The position focuses on delivering scalable and high-performance data solutions using Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Databricks. 🛠 Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage Azure Data Services including Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Cosmos DB, ADLS Gen2, and Event Hub
  • Provision and manage Azure infrastructure such as VNets, subnets, private endpoints, and service endpoints
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using ARM templates and Terraform
  • Manage containerized applications using Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Jenkins
  • Automate workflows and processes using Python and shell scripting
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management solutions
  • Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and system optimization
  • Develop and manage backup, disaster recovery (DR), and failover strategies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Azure services including Databricks and ADF

🎓 Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 7–15 years of experience in cloud engineering, data platforms, or related roles
  • Strong expertise in Azure Data Engineering services (ADF, ADLS Gen2, Synapse, Databricks, Cosmos DB, Event Hub)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates)
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud architecture
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
  • Ability to manage multi-environment setups (Dev, Test, PreProd, Prod)
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI is an advantage
  • Experience working in Agile environments
