Job Overview

A major renewable power development project in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Lead – Renewable Power to support secure and resilient operational technology (OT) infrastructure across complex green energy operations. This role is ideal for senior cybersecurity professionals with extensive expertise in industrial control systems, OT cybersecurity governance, and critical infrastructure protection within renewable energy environments.

The position plays a critical role in ensuring cybersecurity assurance throughout the full project lifecycle, including engineering, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational handover. The selected candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, OEMs, contractors, and stakeholders to implement cybersecurity frameworks and compliance strategies aligned with Saudi regulations and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cybersecurity engineers and oversee OT cybersecurity assurance across renewable energy infrastructure
  • Manage cybersecurity activities for Solar PV farms, wind turbines, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), substations, and grid interface systems
  • Serve as the primary cybersecurity focal point for engineering, construction, commissioning, OEMs, and project stakeholders
  • Maintain OT cybersecurity asset registers and network security architecture documentation
  • Oversee cyber risk registers and mitigation planning activities
  • Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments for OEM packages and integrated industrial systems
  • Lead cybersecurity validation during FAT, SAT, CSAT, and performance testing phases
  • Ensure cybersecurity readiness during commissioning and startup operations
  • Manage firewall configurations, remote access security, endpoint protection, and monitoring controls
  • Monitor third-party cybersecurity compliance and remote connectivity governance
  • Support cybersecurity change management and operational security planning
  • Lead cybersecurity handover processes including incident response strategies, access governance, and recovery planning
  • Mentor cybersecurity engineers, contractors, and technical teams

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or equivalent field
  • 15–20 years of professional experience with at least 7 years focused on OT/ICS cybersecurity environments
  • Strong experience in industrial infrastructure, renewable energy, or power sector projects
  • Proven knowledge of Saudi cybersecurity regulations including NCA, HCIS, and SAIS frameworks
  • Strong understanding of ISA/IEC 62443 cybersecurity standards
  • Expertise in SCADA, DCS, PLCs, SAS, and EPMS environments
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols including IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, and PROFINET
  • Experience supporting full project lifecycle activities from construction through operational handover
  • Professional certifications such as ISA/IEC 62443, SANS, or equivalent cybersecurity certifications preferred
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder coordination, and technical mentoring skills
