Job Overview

NeoDym Technologies is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, validation, and productization of advanced hardware platforms supporting high-speed networking, computing, and FPGA technologies. This full-time, on-site leadership position in Austin is designed for an experienced hardware engineering professional with 10+ years of relevant industry experience.

The role will provide technical and organizational leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams while overseeing hardware development from system architecture through production release. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead hardware development activities from system architecture through production release.
  • Manage multidisciplinary hardware, mechanical, and ECAD engineering teams.
  • Establish technical direction, priorities, schedules, and engineering development plans.
  • Lead board-level hardware design, prototyping, validation, bring-up, and debugging.
  • Oversee high-speed signal integrity and EMC/EMI design and compliance activities.
  • Lead hardware platforms incorporating high-performance processors, embedded computing technologies, and FPGA resources.
  • Review PCB stackups, materials, board construction, and design considerations for high-speed applications.
  • Collaborate with FPGA/RTL, software, mechanical, ECAD, compliance, manufacturing, and program management teams.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), manufacturing, production readiness, sustaining engineering, and engineering change activities.
  • Drive improvements in product quality, reliability, manufacturability, production yields, and cost.
  • Provide technical mentorship and leadership to engineering teams.
  • Support product development strategies and engineering decisions across the hardware lifecycle.

Requirements & Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience.
  • Proven engineering team management and leadership experience.
  • Experience leading hardware development from system architecture through production.
  • Strong experience designing and productizing computer networking equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience with high-speed networking hardware.
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity and EMC/EMI concepts.
  • Experience with high-performance processors and embedded computing platforms.
  • Strong technical leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an on-site, Austin-based engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FPGA-based hardware platforms.
  • Knowledge of high-speed networking architecture.
  • Experience with embedded computing platforms.
  • Expertise in high-speed PCB and SerDes technologies.
