We are hiring an experienced SQL Database Administrator (SQL DBA with Cloud expertise) for a leading enterprise environment in Sydney. As a SQL DBA, you will play a critical role in ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of enterprise database systems. 🛠 Key Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, and maintain relational databases such as SQL Server and MySQL
Manage and support NoSQL databases including MongoDB and Cassandra
Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity
Enforce database security policies and manage user access controls
Troubleshoot database issues including performance bottlenecks, connectivity, and system failures
Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for deployments and migrations
Maintain detailed documentation of database systems and processes
Participate in on-call support rotation for critical database incidents

🎓 Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
5–7 years of experience as a Database Administrator in an enterprise environment
Strong expertise in SQL Server and MySQL database administration
Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra
Solid understanding of database architecture, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery
Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Experience with cloud database services such as Azure SQL Database or GCP Cloud SQL is an advantage
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities
